TED Talk:Building the Seed cathedral

Today  I watched TED Talk:Building the Seed Cathedral by Thomas Heatherwick.

After watching, we have two questions.

"1. How do you think the connection between aesthetic design and eco-friendly implications can change architecture and the world?"

I think that the connection between aesthetic design and eco-friendly implications are important for our life because it is not just architecture.
If it is normal one, people will think that it is not interesting.
Just way of thinking can change our lives into bright ones.

"2. What kind of things can you do in your own life that can help cities become more eco-friendly and more sustainable?"

I think that it is better that I have wide vision and thought.
If I have some idea about eco-friendly, it might be helping for someone even this is a small piece of thinking.

For example, in japan there are zigzag handrail for elderly person and kids.
The reason of zigzag is that because it is easy to grasp.
When I used this one I fell comfortable because it never slide and also my grandmother looked that easy to grasp.
Japan has a lot of barrier-free space and I hope it will be made all over the world as well.

The Design Museum in London

Hello every one.

Before going to The Design Museum, we went to London Bridge.
There were a lot of people who were taking pictures there and I took many pictures as well.
I would like to go to inside one day.

Next, I went to The Design Museum, it was really fantastic for me because I like contemporary art more than ancient art.
There were a lot of modern product designs, especially shoes design which was really interesting, for instance, colour and shape.

The shoes that I was surprised by were made from rubber.
It looked like someone's blood vessel and was ugly but I liked this one because it used vivid colours such as purple, pink, green, orange and blue.
It was named "PROTOCELL FOOTWEAR" made by Shamees Aden who is a researcher and multidisciplinary designer.
She suggested to have a vision shoes in the future that was 3D-print shoes from artificial natural material it has same function with people skin from protocell technique.
It expands and contract with to respond to pressure.
As a result it will be easy to walk for people.

However, it might take over 40 years until sale because it is now project stage.
I hope it sale as soon as possible.

I think that The Design Museum is more like using something method, on the other hands another museum such as V and A that has a lot of ancient arts.

Personally, I prefer new one and I would like to know more about new design and artists.

maker 13 Aug

Hello everyone!
Today I watched the cinema named “maker” that was really interesting.

In the movie that left the biggest impression on me was the pretty girl who looks like normal girl but she is one of the greatest artists.

The reason why I remember her is that I have been attending art school since when I was in kindergarten. I thought that she is like the old me.
That’s why she reminds me of experience in my art school I had long ago.

Besides I remember that my teacher always told me that “art is for everyone and free, you can do that you want to do”.

When I was watching the maker, I also thought that art is that everyone from adults to a child can enjoy it.

There were a lot of artist in this movie. I think that their thinking and method are different each other but their common thing is that all of them are enjoying to create artworks.

Finally I would like to create artwork as well as that like everyone can enjoy it.

Project 3 ''Freedom''

Hello everyone.
Our group name is M2cpY2g!!!

First of all, we decided to develop the concept
of freedom.
But we had a lot of problems such as that our thinking changed every day.

Everyone's face looked very confused and I worried about this.
I also thought that our concept was extremely dicey because freedom is quite a huge concept.

So we were talking about freedom everyday.
As a result, we decided to make the video that is about our freedom and we were using English and our own language.
I think that this idea is good because it is also to express the concept.

The day that was presentation, we are so nervous but I think that this presentation is the best so far.
Because the video was pretty good and also we could do interactive that use the post-it with audience.

But I think that our reflective point in presentation was that we had to use post-it more interactive such as put up the post-it on the wall like this.

As you know that our mind is different each other
and of course my freedom is different each other as well.

Finally I would like to ask you again ''What is freedom for you?''

ai-wei-wei

Hello every one!
It's embarrassing, actually I didn't know about him.
Before watching his video, I thought he is normal man.

But now I could understand what he want to do.
He want to change the government and sometimes he brought back it.

I chose the one piece of arts about his artworks.

It is named Urn With Coca-Cola Logo 1994
It showed the uncomfortable collision of an ancient culture with global capital.
A shock effect is created by the big bold Coca Cola logo slapped onto a 2000 years old urn.

The reason I chose this one that because personality I like the collaborate artwork such as past and present.
And he wanted to tell us "The reform and succession of tradition".

As you know, Warhol used Coca-Cola for the motif is that to symbolize the capitalist societies in America.

It recent years it might be call to symbolize of the globalization.
But now Coke's consumption of Chine is No.4 in the world.

Finally, for him art is not just watching thing it has a lot of meaning such as counterargument for the society and government.

I think art has a lot of meaning each artist, this time he mean that opposition to the Chinese government.
I'm Japanese so it is hard to understand about another government but I have Chinese friend,
that's why  I could ask about that.

It was good chance to know the Chinese government, famous artist called Ai and his work.

IFAD 2015

HELLO :)
Yesterday I had a fun time with International Foundation students in their exhibition.

I'm going to Foundation course from this September, that's why it was really interesting to talk with them about this course and their  purpose.

I tried to talk to everyone and I almost could do that.

Though watching and talking, I had two favorite exhibition.

"The Evolution of sound"
Reghad Tmumen

When I entered in small room, there are a lot of pictures and I could see her classmate's face such as happiness and sadness on the wall.

Her main concept and main idea is sound.
And her work is based on emotion and behavior change as a result of being exposed to sound.
Because each person has a different reaction even listening to the same sound.

There photos are her classmate that they were listening to three different sounds such as Laughter, Police Siren and finally, War sound:gun shot and shouting.

I hear the sound of a gunshot about war whole this I felt really sad.

I think that sounds and arts are quite similar, because it is not important that everyone think same thing.

I could think about someone's reaction and realise that each person has a different expression in this room.

"Ikebana"
Alfred Chan

This is Fashion Promotion and Imaging.
His main concept and main idea of his work is about flowers, especially Asian flowers.
He made a Spring/Summer 2015 collection for teenage girls and young women. The target market is about 15 to 20 years old.
He was inspired by Hong Kong designer Ground Zero and influenced from Hong Kong culture and the Sakura from Japan.
I'm glad that he used Sakura, because everyone can know about it when they see his artworks.

Actually my grandmother is a Ikebana teacher.
That's why I like Ikebana and flowers from I was a child.

Also I'm suppressed that fashion model is a foundation course's tutor and classmate. The women are very beautiful and they looked more beauty because they wear his design cloths.

He created to booklet and clothes and also took the pictures by himself.
I think that it is interesting to create all thing.
I'd like to see more his create cloths.

In conclusion, I like to see the exhibition and talk to artists about their concept and mind.

Thank you for giving chance to know a lot of artists and friends.

Project 2

Hi :)

Though Oxford trip, I could know a lot of information about Japanese artwork and print in ASHMOLEAN museum.

when I was in Japan, I would not think about Japan, Because it is too close to think.
And about my house as well.

My house is one of traditional house in Japan, also it has a lot of artworks inside.
When I saw Japanese exhibition in ASHMOLEAN I thought that some artworks might have in my house. So next day I asked my mum and she sent me a lot of pictures about ceramics and the hanging scrolls.

It is similar with before exhibition that I saw.

That's why now I'm proud of my house, and I'm happy that I could realize about that.

I think that I use to do about researching, drawing and writing, because Project 2 is my second time research.

And also I can feel that my english is better than before.
Thank you Project 2 but I'm not looking forward to meet Project 3....lol

See you soon.
